EBL explores 'simple pleasures of life'

As part of corporate governance Eastern Bank Ltd. organised a photography competition titled 'simple pleasures of life' for its employees recently.
A total of 27 EBL employees submitted 115 photographs for the competition. Of them, eight were awarded for their presentation of the theme, photography skills and aesthetics.
Ali Reza Iftekhar Managing Director & CEO of the bank said, 'At EBL we believe that employees are our greatest asset. Many of them posses' unique talents. The competition is designed to spot the latent talents in them and connect them emotionally with the brand EBL.'
Renowned artists Qayyum Chowdhury, Rafiqun Nabi, Monirul Islam, Editor of The Financial Express A.H.M Moazzem Hossain, TV personality Afzal Hossain juried the competition.
The close shot of an ant struggling to cross its path by Md. Shahriar Imran of Chawk Mughultuly branch won him the first prize. If the first prize went to a work that focused on details, the second picture was more of capturing moods. Gazi Imrul Hasan's poignant image of a little girl enjoying her own artwork gave him the second prize. He is from Khulna branch. The innocent smile of village kids captured in black and white by Sultan Mahmud Sarkar of Brand and Marketing Department, portrays pleasures can be found everywhere, won the third prize.
Special mention went to five contestants who the judges felt have a bright future in photography. They are Syed Mohiuddin of Banani Branch, Ahsanul Hoque Chowdhury of Agrabad Branch, Khaja Mohammad Fathe Ali, Md. Raihan Parvez and M. Mostafiduzzaman of EBL Head Office.
