Ebola virus: Remain alert
Thursday, 16 October 2014
Ebola virus has created fear in the minds of the people around the world. It attacks human and mammals. Symptoms start from two days to three weeks after getting infected by the virus. Sudden fever, intense weakness, sore throat, muscle pain and severe headache are a few symptoms of Ebola infection. Ebola has so far claimed 4500 lives. This is alarming. It is a high mortality disease and the UN health agency has advised to isolate the affected people and provide them treatment as early as possible.
Bangladesh government should take precaution as Ebola is a contagious disease. Having taken toll in Africa, this deadly virus has travelled to the US. We have no scope to be complacent; we must remain alert to face the disease. Bangladesh is a populous country; so we need to take extra precaution. Those entering Bangladesh from Ebola-infected countries should be closely monitored. I hope the world will soon find a preventive vaccine for Ebola virus.
