EC commissioners fly to London for talks on vote

LONDON, Nov 6 (bdnews24.com): Election commissioners M Shakhawat Hussain and Sohul Hussain arrived in London Monday evening to have discussion with expatriate Bangladeshi on how they can vote in national polls from the UK.
Deputy High Commissioner Ashraf Uddin Ahmed received them in the Heathrow Airport.
During the 10-day visit, the commissioners will hold a series of consultation meetings in different cities in the UK including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Portsmouth and Coventry.
On taking part in elections, Shakhawat said at the airport that any expatriate can run in the polls but they have to surrender the British Passport and disown British citizenship before vote.
The first consultation meeting with expatriate Bangladeshis in the UK will take place at Bangladesh Centre in London high commission sources in London said.
