EC fines Saifuddin, 5 others in Dhaka South

The Election Commission (EC) has fined Jatiya Party-backed mayoral candidate Mohammad Saifuddin Milon and five others a total of Tk 19,000 for violating the election code of conduct in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) area, reports UNB.
The mobile courts awarded the fine to the six persons in three days from Monday to Wednesday according to EC's fact-sheet sent to media houses on Thursday.
Milon was fined a total of Tk 7,000 on Monday over two breaches of the polls code.
Besides, female councillor contestant Syeda Roksana Islam Chamily who is running in the reserved seat comprising Wards No-13, 19 and 20, was fined Tk 3,000, while Nasir Ahmed Khan of Ward No-34 was fined Tk 3000 on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, two general councillor candidates of Ward No-33 Mohammad Mohan and Mehbub Hasan were fined Tk 3,000 each.
