EC hails CA's indication about JS, upazila polls

The European Commission (EC) Sunday welcomed the Chief Adviser's (CA) indications about holding the parliamentary and upazila elections and the creation of favourable conditions for the successful conduct of those polls, reports UNB.
"The EC encourages all stakeholders to work in a constructive spirit towards those elections," said the Delegation of the European Commission to Bangladesh in an official reaction on the CA's speech Saturday evening.
The EC Delegation said the European Commission confirmed that the Commissioner for External Relations, Ferrero-Waldner, would take a decision in the near future on the redeployment of the EU Election Observation Mission (EOM) based on the prevailing political and electoral situation.
