Monday, 22 June 2015
Citizens will have to pay a fee for re-issuance of their National ID cards (NID) in case of loss or damage, and correcting personal information. Fees ranging from Tk100 to Tk1,000 will be applicable from September 1, according to a gazette notification by the Election Commission (EC). Until now, the EC reissued NIDs if lost or damaged for free. Monday’s notification says that charges will be applicable for correcting personal information. However, until August 31, citizens will be able to avail these services for free, according to bdnews24.com.
