EC meet on upazila polls security Sunday

The Election Commission will sit in a meeting Sunday instead of Thursday to finalise the security measures for the staggered upazila elections.
The commission rescheduled the date of the meeting on security for the countrywide upazila polls, starting February 19, said an official at the EC Secretariat Wednesday.
The EC’s parley with the top brass of law enforcement agencies was scheduled for Thursday at the conference room of the National Economic Council in the city’s Sher-e Bangla area.
Top officials of different law enforcement agencies, including police, Rab, BGB and Ansar, and the representatives from the armed forces division, the returning officers and the election officials  will attend the meeting , according to a news agency.
