EC mulls holding polls to women seats in Feb, UZ councils in Mar

The Election Commission has a plan to hold polls to women reserved seats of the 12th Jatiya Sangsad in February and upazila parishads in March next, said EC's additional secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath, reports BSS.
He said polls schedule will be announced after getting approval of the commission.
He said schedule for polls to women reserved seats is likely to be announced in next week.
In the 12th parliamentary elections held on January 7, AL won 223 seats, independent candidates got 62, Jatiya Party 11, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal one, Workers Party one and Kalyan Party one.
Due to death of an independent candidate, voting to Naogaon-2 was not held on that day. Voting in that constituency will be held on February 12 next.
