EC opens online reg for journos, observers

Bangladesh Election Commission has opened online registration for journalists and observers intending to cover and monitor the electoral process of the 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum scheduled for February 12.
They will have to apply through a web portal launched by the Election Commission (EC) -- https://pr.ecs.gov.bd/-- by February 3 to obtain the identity cards.
To this effect, EC's Public Relations Director Md. Ruhul Amin Mollik issued separate letters on Monday.
The letters state that there are restrictions on entering the polling station on the election day and only the voters and those with identity cards approved from the Election Commission can enter the polling station.
There are separate policies for journalists and observers.
The EC has published lists of necessary documents and guidelines on the website.
After the submitted applications are verified and approved, the applying observers and journalists will have to download and print the cards and stickers from the web portal.
