EC orders transfer of 2 Magura police officials

Election Commission (EC) has ordered the police headquarters to immediately transfer Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shreepur thana Md Awlad Hossain and Sub-Inspector (SI) of Magura thana Manik Gayin, and said they should not be entrusted with any election tasks in the upcoming Magura-1 by-election, reports BSS.
Election Commissioner Md Shah Newaz told journalists on Sunday afternoon that EC issued the transfer order, responding to the proposal of returning officer for Magura-1 by-poll, scheduled to be held on May 30. The constituency fell vacant following the death of Awami League lawmaker Prof MS Akbar on March 9.
The office order was signed by EC assistant secretary Rajib Ahsan.
