Saturday, 14 April 2018

KUSHTIA, April 13 (BSS): Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said on Friday based on opinions of all the political parties in the country, the Election Commission (EC) will take decision on whether there is any need of reforming the RPO for the next general election.
"The EC has held meetings with all the political parties of the country to make sure the participation of all in free, fair and neutral polls. The parties have let their opinions know in those meetings. Now the EC will take decision on need of RPO reform based on those opinions. Government has no role to play here," Hanif said.
He came up with the observations while talking to newsmen about BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam's demand of RPO reform.
The Awami League leader also said BNP is a party condemned by all and it does not find anything better to talk about other than conspiracy and other negative things.
"BNP has been identified as a corrupt political party after its chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was convicted in a graft case. They have nothing to do with politics and that is why they are trying to confuse people over different unnecessary issues," Hanif added.
Senior vice-president of district Awami League Haji Robiul Islam, general secretary Asgar Ali and other leaders and activists of local Awami League, were present on the occasion, among others.
