ECNEC approves 4 dev projects worth Tk 26.45b

The Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) Tuesday approved four development projects involving Tk 26.45 billion that include introduction of 3G Technology and expansion of 2.5G Network project, reports UNB. Prime Minister (PM) and Chairperson of ECNEC Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting held at the NEC conference room in the city. Of the total amount, the government will provide Tk 11.68 billion while Tk 14.77 billion will come as project assistance, Planning Minister AK Khandker told the reporters after the meeting. The other projects approved in the meeting include setting up Faridpur Medical College and Hospital, development of 16 roads in Gopalganj district (3.88 billion) and Gopalganj (Borashi)-Boroni-Singipara (Tungipara) road development project to ensure safe and developed communication of Tungipara Upazila with Gopalganj district headquarters (410 million). Talking to the reporters about 3G Technology project, Planning Secretary Manzur Hossain said, "It's the latest technology in the world which will help Teletalk to expand its network with modern facilities."
