Ecnec approves 4 projects involving Tk 6,386.07cr

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) on Wednesday approved four new projects, including ‘Strengthening Capacity of Distribution System of the Rural Electrification’ Project, involving Tk 5,198.33 crore in a bid to enhance the capacity of transmission network of 39 Palli Bidyut Samities.
The approval was given at the Ecnec meeting held at the NEC conference room in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar with Ecnec Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said the Ecnec approved four new development projects with the total outlay of Tk 6,386.07 crore.
“Of the total projects cost, the government will provide Tk 1,843.47 crore from the national exchequer and Tk 4,317.15 crore will come as project assistance while organisations concerned will contribute Tk 225.45 crore from own sources,” he added, according to UNB.
