ECNEC approves 4 uplift projects

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) Tuesday approved four development projects involving about Tk 15.37 billion, reports UNB.
Of the amount, the government will finance Tk 6.06 billion while the remaining will be mobilised from project aid.
The approval of the projects came at a meeting of ECNEC in the NEC conference room with Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairman Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
The approved projects are basic education project 2nd phase (amended) for working children in towns under the Non-formal Education Bureau, 50-bed three BDR hospitals at Chuadanga, Thakurgaon and Khagrachhari, establishment project of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) under the home ministry, complex construction (2nd phase) project of Bangladesh Public Service Commission Secretariat at Agargaon in the city and road network development and maintenance project-2 (amended) under the Roads and Highways Department (RHD).
Finance Minister and alternate Chairman of the ECNEC AMA Muhith, Planning Minister AK Khandaker, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Labour and Employment and Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Water Resources Minister Ramesh Chandra Sen, Commerce Minister Faruk Khan, Communications Minister Syed Abul Hossain, Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan, advisers to the Prime Minister HT Imam, Moshiur Rahman, Modasser Ali and Toufiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, State Minister for Home Affairs Shamsul Haque Tuku and State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Mohammad Motahar Hossain attended the meeting.
