ECNEC approves 5 projects

The Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) today approved Pourashava Water and Sanitation project aimed at providing safe drinking water and sanitation facilities to 40 Pourashavas of all the seven Divisions in the country involving Taka 184 crore. The approval came at its meeting held at the NEC conference room in the city's Sher-e-Banglanagar with ECNEC chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair. "ECNEC has approved five development projects including the safe drinking water and sanitation facilities project with a cost of Taka 615 crore. The total cost would come from the national exchequer,\\" Planning Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal told reporters immediately after the meeting. Kamal also said the ECNEC so far has approved 168 development projects in the current fiscal year involving Taka 97,242 crore, according to BSS.
