ECNEC approves 8 projects with Tk15.7632bn

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday approved eight development projects involving Tk15.7632 billion, including one to develop some 1,557 km district roads under 10 zones to ensure safe road communication across the country.
The approval came from the 30th ECNEC meeting of the current fiscal year at the NEC conference room in the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area presided by its chairperson Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Briefing newsmen after the meeting, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said that a total of eight projects were approved today with a total outlay of Tk15.7632 billion.
"Of the total project cost, Tk 15.61 billion will come from the government exchequer while Tk 155 million from respective organisation's own fund".
Of the eight projects, six are new while two are revised projects.
