ECNEC okays 6 dev projects

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday approved six development projects involving Tk 9.61 billion including one to bring country’s 4.5 million people, aged 15-45 years, under basic literacy programme. The approval came from a meeting of the ECNEC held at the NEC conference room in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar with ECNEC chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair. Briefing reporters after the meeting, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal informed that six development projects costing Tk 9.61 billion were approved Tuesday. “Of the total project costs, Tk 7.63 billion will come from the government fund while the remaining Tk 1.98 billion from own funds of respective organisations,” he said, according to a news agency.
