ECNEC OKs 4-project worth Tk 7.20b

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved four development projects with an outlay of Tk 7.2 billion (Tk 720.70 crore). The approval came from Tuesday’s ECNEC meeting held at the NEC Conference Room in city’s Sher-e-Banglanagar with ECNEC Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair. ‘Of the total project cost, the government will provide Tk 5.64b (564.70 cr) from the national exchequer while Tk 1.56b (156cr) will come as project assistance,’ Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal told reporters after the meeting. He said the ECNEC approved Rural Electrification Expansion Activities in Barisal Division-I (1st Revised) project involving Tk 3.31b (331.80cr), according to BSS.
