Economists to examine Prof Sharif's theory
Monday, 14 June 2010
A group of economists based in the Netherlands has launched a major project to examine various policy implications of Professor Mohammed Sharif's theory of "Forward Falling Labour Supply," said a press release.
Prof Sharif developed the theory in early nineteen eighties explaining the work behaviour of the world's poor terming it a distress sale phenomenon as against the conventional characterisation of it as subsistence mentality behaviour.
Since then he has published a book and many articles in international journals including Cambridge Journal of Economics exploring various aspects of the theory.
