ECRL opens office in Ctg

Emerging Credit Rating Limited (ECRL) has expanded its presence by holding an inauguration ceremony of its Chittagong Office recently.
The focus of this event was to introduce ECRL to the Chittagong Business World and to have an open discussion regarding the benefits of credit rating.
ECRL is a licensed credit rating agency and is committed to providing Bangladesh's credit market with independent and prospective credit opinions, research and data. In addition to the core rating business, in the future ECRL hopes to branch out into providing research data and analytical tools for assessing credit risk, and publish marketing leading credit opinions. The company has been built on a foundation of local market experience, which spans throughout the corporate sector of the country.
ECRL has established a technical collaboration with a Malaysian rating company know as Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad (MARC).
Under the technical agreement, the company obtained technical support in relating to rating procedures and methodologies from MARC. The company also obtained credit rating license from Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission in June 2010 as per Credit Rating Companies Rules 1996 and also received Bangladesh Bank Recognition as an External Credit Rating Institution in October, 2010.
The company has already completed over 2,000 rating assignments, said a press release.
