'Edn isn't prerequisite for getting passport'

The government Thursday said any Bangladeshi citizen has the right to get a passport and SSC pass or any other educational qualification is not mandatory for this. "Any Bangladeshi citizen of any age is eligible to get a passport. Educational qualification is not a prerequisite for getting a passport," said a home ministry release following a press report that none will get passport without having passed minimum SSC examination. The government advised all to ignore any such "confusing report". —UNB
