Educational programme on TV

Now, we have a number of television channels in Bangladesh. But none of them airs educational programmes. Bangladesh Television (BTV) has a debate competition. However, it is not so popular. There are many talent hunt shows for singers, actors and dancers on private TV channels but none for the young scholars.
TV is not just for entertainment. Why don't we see a single educational programme on our TV channels? Whenever we switch on to TV, we see talk-shows, plays, ads, or music programmes.
The issue deserves a closer look.
