Effective traffic rules must for road safety: IGP

RAJSHAHI, Jan 12 (BSS)- The Inspector General of Police (GP) Hasan Mahmud Khandaker has said proper enforcement of traffic rules and action against outdated vehicles and unlicensed drivers are vital for safe and dynamic road traffic system.
In this context, he told the newly recruited sergeants to perform their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty.
He was addressing the new intakes at their passing out (2011 batch) pared as the chief guest at Bangladesh Police Academy at Sarda here Thursday. Some 288 sergeants took part in it.
Hasan Mahmud said the sergeants have to act putting in their best efforts to restore a sound management of road traffic system in the jam-packed towns and highways to bring peace in public mind and dynamism in the economic activities.
