Effective use of IT prerequisite to fair polls: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad on Thursday observed that the successful use of technology is one of the prerequisites for fair and free election. “The use of information technology (IT) has brought substantial changes in the electoral system. Now, the main challenge is to use information technology effectively by the workforce engaged in the election process,” he said. The CEC was addressing as the chief guest a workshop titled ‘experience sharing about management of candidates and election results’ at a local hotel in Khulna, said a PID handout, according to a news agency.
