Efficient, transparent handling of tender process underscored

Board of Investment (BoI) Executive Chairman Kamaluddin Ahmed said government officials should have skills for efficient handling of tender process as well as contract documents in a transparent manner.
He was speaking as the chief guest of a two-day training programme organised by BoI on 'Tender Preparation Aspects for Private Infrastructure Projects' held at Hotel Purbani International in the city recently.
The programme was sponsored by IPFF cell of Bangladesh Bank and facilitated by Infrastructure Investment Facilitation Centre (IIFC).
The objective of the training programme was to provide a detailed understanding on tender preparation for private infrastructure projects. The programme targeted the related government and private sector officials.
The chief guest, in his speech, also said such training programmes are essential to handle and evaluate public-private partnership (PPP) deals in infrastructure projects.
BoI Director Mamdood Hossain Alamgir gave the address of welcome at the inaugural session. Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Md Abul Quasem and BoI Member Abu Reza Khan were also present as special guests.
IIFC Executive Director-cum-CEO Nazrul Islam, Superintending Engineer Tajul Islam of Bangladesh Sthala Bandar Kartripakkha, independent consultant Bazlul Kadir, legal consultants Zamiruddin and Nawshad Zamir, Senior Consultant Saurendra Tripathy of PwC India, IIFC Managing Director Doreen Power and Manager (Commercial) Muhammad Shamsur Rahman delivered lectures at the training sessions.
