Efforts on to keep Tinbigha open for 24 hrs

LALMONIRHAT, Nov 19 (BSS): Efforts are being made to keep Tinbigha corridor open for 24 hours every day for the movement of the inhabitants of Dahagram and Angarpota enclaves.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Tariq A Karim said this during his two-day visit to the area. He left for New Delhi through Burimari border point Friday morning.
Tariq A Karim said he talked to the people of Dahagram about their problems and assured them of discussing the matter with Indian officials in Delhi to keep the corridor open for 24 hours.
The corridor, under the control of Indian Border Security Force (BSF), remains open for 12 hours (from 6am to 6pm) a day for movement of the inhabitants.
The High Commissio-ner said the present government is making its sincere efforts to resolve the problems of the people of the The Deputy Commissioner of Lalmonirhat M Mokhlesar Rahman, 31 Rifle Battalion Commander Lt Col Aslam Hossain and Police Superintendent Habibur Rahman were present.
