Eid congregations held in dists

Our Correspondent Khulna, Nov 9: Holy Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated here in Khulna and its adjoining areas as elsewhere in the country with due solemnity and religious fervour. Prayers were held in various places in the city. The main Eid congregation was held at the Khulna Circuit House Maidan on Monday. Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque, Nazrul Islam Monju MP, leaders from various political parties and high government officials offered Eid prayers at the Eid congregation of Khulna Circuit House Maidan. The congregation was led by Moulana Abu Saleh, Principal of Khulna Alia Madrasa and Pesh Imam of Khulna town Jame mosque. Special prayer was offered for continued peaces, progress and prosperity of the nation and the Muslim ummah. Rangpur BSS reports from Rangpur: Eid-ul-Azha, the second greatest religious festival of the Muslims, celebrated in all districts under Rangpur division with due religious festivity, solemnity and enthusiasm on Monday. In Rangpur, the biggest Eid congregation was held at Rangpur Collectorate Eidgah Maidan at 9 am where Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, senior political leaders, elite of the city, officials and professionals offered their Eid prayers. Besides, Eid Jamaats were held at all upazilas, pourasabhas and rural areas thought Rangpur district from 8:30 am to 11 am in the morning. Thousands of Muslims offered special munajats seeking divine blessings and eternal peace of the departed souls, continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country, its people and Muslim Ummah in the Eid congregations. Rajshahi Another report from BSS adds: The holy Eid-ul-Azha, one of the largest religious festivals of the Muslims, has been celebrated in Rajshahi city and nine upazilas of the district and other adjacent districts amidst sacrificial mode along with due fervor, joy, enthusiasm, gaiety and solemnity on Monday. In the morning, streams of people- young, old and children rushed to the nearest eidgahs and mosques and offered their Eid prayers. Thousands of musallis at the end of Eid jamaats (congregations), offered special munajats seeking divine blessings and eternal peace of departed souls particularly their near and dear ones, continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the country and as well as greater welfare of the Muslim Ummah. Gopalganj Our Correspondent from Gopalganj says: Holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religion festival of Muslim community was celebrated in Gopalganj in a befitting manner. The main Eid congregation was held at local poura Eidgah Maidan. Mufti Maulana Mohammad Hafizur Rahman, Imam of Court Jame Mosque of Gopalganj town conducted the prayer at 8.30 am, and the second congregation was held at SK Alia Madrasha mosque of Gopalganj city, conducted by Md. Abdul Hamid, former Imam of the mosque, at 9.00 am. Besides, Eid congregation were also held at other jame mosques. Natore Our Correspondent from Natore reports: Holy-Eid-ul-Azha, was celebrated with due religious fervour and festivity on Monday. National flags were hoisted in most of the public and private buildings and main roads were decorated with banners and festoons inscribed with Allahu Akbar and Eid Mubarak. The celebration began with Eid congregations across 6 upazila of the district. The main Eid congregation was held at Natore Central Eidgah under the auspices of Natore Paurashava. Two separate jamaats were held there. Special prayers were offered after seeking peace and progress of the country and the Muslim Ummah. Slaughtering or sacrificial animals begun after the congregation.
