Eid-e-Miladunnabi observed in dists

GOPALGANJ, Jan 5: Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi commemorating the birth and death anniversaries of prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM), was observed here with due religious fervour Sunday.
On the occasion, Islamic Foundation, Gopalganj arranged a Milad Mahfil and Doa at Bangabandhu Mazar Complex Mosque at Tungipara. A discussion meeting on the life and works of the prophet was also held at the conference room of Islamic Foundation in Gopalganj town.
Sheikh Akramul Haque, DD, Islamic Foundation, Gopalganj presided the chair where ANM Maimul Islam, ADC (Gen.), Jakir Hossain, Additional SP, Gopalganj were present as chief and special gusts restpectively.
Among Others Sk. Abdul Halim, President, Tungipara Upazila Awami League (AL), Maulana Mahiuddin Kashime, Madrasha teacher and Solayman Biwas, former Upazila Chairman, Tungipara Upazila spoke on the occasion.
Our Correspondent in Nilphamari reports: Holy Eid-e-Miladunnobi, the day of birth and death of the great prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SM) observed in Nilphamari with great religious devotion. Milad Mahfil and prayers were held almost in every household of the district irrespective of rich and poor.
Along with the adults a huge number of children also attended the Milad Mahfil in different mosques and sweetmeats were also distributed. Different religious, social and cultural organisations chalked out programmes and discussed the life and teachings of the prophet.
Some devotees spent sleepless night in the mosques by being engaged in night long prayer and zikir. The day was public holiday and the national flag was hoisted in all the government offices as well as in the houses and shops of the citizens of the district.
