Eid-e-Miladunnabi on January 4

Eid-e-Miladunnabi, the day of birth and demise of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM), will be observed in the country on January 4 (Sunday) as the moon of Rabiul Awal was sighted in Bangladesh sky on Tuesday. The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee after reviewing information related to sighting of the Rabiul Awal moon. The meeting was held at the Islamic Foundation's Baitul Mukarram conference room with committee chairman and Religious Affairs Minister Principal Motiur Rahman in the chair.    — UNB
