Saturday, 6 October 2007

RAJSHAHI, Oct 5 (BSS): With only a week left for Eid-ul- Fitr, the greatest Muslim religious festival, the Eid shopping has gained momentum here amid huge supply of consumer goods, traffic jam and enthusiasm among the people for buying.
All the city markets are very busy now to sell their commodities to hundreds of shoppers. The rush of customers at shopping centres start from morning and continues till night.
The buying spree is likely to continue till the last day of the holy Ramadan. With rise in the number of buyers, traffic jam in the city's busy market places and intersections, particularly in front of shopping centres, has become acute.
Prices of men's and women's wear, both local and foreign, especially Indian, rose by 25 to 30 per cent from the last year's prices.
