Eid-ul-Azha celebrated in dists with due religious fervour

Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest religious festival of the Muslims, was celebrated across districts on Thursday amid due solemnity and religious fervour with offering prayers at mosques and Eidgahs and sacrificing animals braving the monsoon rain, reports BSS.
The country's largest Eid congregations were held at Gor-e-Shaheed Baro Maidan in Dinajpur and historic Sholakia ground in Kishoreganj.
Eid congregations were also held at mosques and Eidgahs across the country braving rainfall.
The holy Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated with religious sentiments and solemnity in the port city.
A total of 268 Eid Jamaats were held in the port city under the auspices of Chattogram Central Eid Jamaat Committee (CCEJC) and Chattogram City Corporation ( CCC) respectively.
A large number of devotees participated in the Eid prayers and prayed for divine blessing for the peace, prosperity and stability of the country.
The authority had taken adequate security measures by deploying sufficient law enforcers at various strategic points in the city and district.
Of the biggest three, one Eid congregation was held at Andarkilla Shahi Jame Mosque at 7am organized by CCEJC and two others were held successively at Jamiatul Falah Mosque at 7.30am and 8 am under the auspices of CCC.
Other major Eid Congregations were held at Laldhighi Maidan, Chawkbazar Wali Khan Mosque, Masjeed-e-Baitus Sharf at Kadamtali , Pologround Railway Public High School Maidan, Shah Amanat Shah (Rh)Dargah Maidan, Metropolitan Police Line Maidan, Agrabad Jamboree field, Baizeed Bostami (Rh) Dargah Mosque.
The main Eid-ul-Azha jamaat (congregation) of Rajshahi city was held at Hazrat Shah Makhdum (R) Dargah Mosque.
Muhtamim of Hatemkha Jame Mosque Mufti Yeakub Ali conducted the Eid prayers.
Mayor-reelect of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and many other senior divisional and district level officials including Divisional Commissioner GSM Jafarullah and Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed offered their prayers at the main Eid jamaat.
The second and third largest congregations were held at Tikapara Eidgah and Shaheb Bazar Zero Point at the same time.
Some other big Eid jamaats in the city were held at Rajshahi University, RUET campus, Hatemkha, Stadium Ground, Shalbagan, Alif Lam Meem Bhata Eidgah, Police Line Parade Ground, Mahisbathan Eidgah Math and Upashahar Eidgah Moidan.
Earlier in the morning, streams of people-young, old and children- rushed to their nearest eidgah, mosques and open places to offer the Eid prayers.
Around 150 other Eid-ul-Azha jamaats were held at traditional and temporary venues in Rajshahi metropolis.
Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) decorated the city's important points and road islands with national and colorful flags inscribed with "Eid Mubarak".
Improved diets are being served to the inmates of different hospitals, jails, Shishu Paribars, orphanages and vagrant welfare centres in all districts on the occasion.
Eid congregations were also held in the districts of Chapainawabganj, Natore, Naogaon, Bogura, Joypurhat, Sirajganj and Pabna under Rajshahi division like other parts of the country.
Eid-ul-Azha was also celebrated in all the seven
upazilas of the district on Thursday with due religious fervor, solemnity and spirit of sacrifice.
In the morning, streams of people including the young, old and children rushed to the nearest Eidgahs, mosques and selected open places for offering their Eid-prayers.
The main Eid congregation was held at Central Eidgah Maidan, near Shah Abdul Hamid Stadium of the town, by the arrangement of the district administration.
