Eid-ul-Fitr a call to unity, shunning division: Hamid

President Abdul Hamid on Tuesday observed that the lesson of Eid-ul-Fitr will unite all to build a beautiful and prosperous country shunning all the differences. ‘The role of Eid-ul-Fitr is significant to build egalitarian and peaceful society. Today, I expect that the lesson of Eid-Ul-Fitr will unite all with a view to building a beautiful and prosperous country, shunning differences,’ he said while talking to media during a reception marking the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, at Bangabhaban in the morning. Abdul Hamid said Eid means joy and happiness. ‘Today, after month-long fasting, Eid-ul-Fitr has come before us with the message of happiness. Eid creates affection, amity and bondage for unity among the people of all classes and professionals.’ President Abdul Hamid and his wife Rashida Khanom hosted the reception to senior government officials, diplomats and noted citizens of the country. Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Chief Justice M Muzzammel Hossain, ministers, advisers to the Prime Minister and state ministers attended the reception, according to UNB.
