Eight burnt in chemical factory fire

NARAYANGANJ, Mar 30 (UNB): Eight workers taking a nap after their night shift sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a chemical factory in the district's Rupganj upazila in the early hours of Wednesday.
The victims have been identified as Bayezid, Rokon, Khademul, Sajeeb, Ripon, Mehedi, Russell and Akalur. All the injured were undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Deputy assistant director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defence Abdullah Arefin said the blaze broke out at the factory at 03:00 am and spread soon.
