Eight girls rescued before being trafficked to Dubai

Sunday, 17 June 2007

Joint forces foiled a human trafficking bid and rescued eight adolescent girls from the Zia International Airport (ZIA) in the city Saturday, reports UNB.
Sources said the eight girls were scheduled to fly for Dubai under cover of artistes by a flight of the Kuwait Airways in the morning. On suspicion, the joint forces challenged the girls when they stood in a queue to collect their boarding passes at about 6:00am.
The girls told the law enforcers that they were going to Dubai as they got visit visas as artistes but they could not prove that they were artistes.
Police said an organised gang of human traffickers tried to smuggle out the girls under cover of artistes.
