Eight lawyers rail against Shafique's statement

Seven lawyers of BNP and one of Jamaat-e-Islami Wednesday strongly protested the statement made by the law minister over the developments in the investigation for the trial of the perpetrators of crimes against humanity during the 1971 War of Liberation, reports UNB.
"Such statement blatantly influences the independent functioning of the investigation agency," they said.
The signatories to the statement were Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president Khandker Mahbub Hossain, Moudud Ahmed MP, Jamir Uddin Sircar MP, former attorney general AJ Mohammad Ali, Rafiqul Islam Mian, Netai Roy Chowdhury, former SCBA secretary Zainul Abedin and Abdur Razzaq.
