Eight teams emerge zonal champions

Eight teams - Dhaka, Pirojpur, Tangail, Rajshahi, Jessore, Faridpur, Comilla and Dinajpur DSAs - emerged zonal champions Sunday to reach the final round of ATMAI Products National Youth Kabaddi Championship, reports UNB.
The eight-team final round will be held on July 29-30 at the Kabaddi Stadium in the city.
In Dhaka, hosts Dhaka DSA clinched the zonal title beating Gazipur by 59-30 points with three creditable `lona' in the final.
Earlier, Dhaka booked the zonal final berth eliminating Munshiganj by 37-25 points with two lonas while Gazipur moved into the final beating Manikganj by 51-15 points with three lonas.
At Pirojpur, hosts team emerged zonal champions beating Barisal by 29-19 points with one lona in the final.
Earlier, Pirojpur eliminated Bhola by 32-13 points with two lonas while Barsial defeated Jhalakhati by 42-21 with three lonas.
At Tangail, hosts Tangail lifted the zonal crown beating Mymensingh by 33-13 points with two lonas. In the first round, Tangail eliminated Netrakona by 47-12 points with four lonas.
At Naogaon, Rajshahi emerged zonal champions eliminating hosts Naogaon by 74-19 points with six lonas in the final. Earlier, Rajshahi eliminated Joypurhat by 64-12 points with five lonas.
At Jessore, hosts Jessore clinched the zonal title beating Satkhira by 39-13 points with three lonas in the final. Earlier, Jessore eliminated Narail by 40-18 points with two lonas.
At Faridpur, hosts Faridpur emerged zonal champions beating Rajbari by 47-31 points with two lonas. Earlier, Rajbari beat Madaripur by 82-52 points with five lonas.
At Comilla, hosts Comilla clinched the zonal title beating Moulvibazar by 24-12 points with one lona.
At Rangpur, Dinajpur clinched the zonal crown beating hosts Rangpur by 24-20 points with one lona in a keenly contested final after beating Gaibandha by 30-19 points with two lonas.
