Eighteen killed in separate incidents

Eighteen persons were killed and many others injured in separate incidents in different places of the country during the last two days, report agencies.
In Keraniganj, five people, including four women were killed and 12 others injured in a tragic road accident at Chunkutia under South Keraniganj thana Sunday.
The police and witnesses said a Keraniganj-bound bus from Dhaka collided with a speeding truck coming from opposite direction and plunged into a roadside ditch at about 11am, killing four bus passengers on the spot.
In Jessore, a college student was stabbed to death at Bhomradaha village in Monirampur Upazila.
The dead was identified as Shamim Hossain alias Tutul son of Fazlur Rahman and student of Dhakuria College of the upazila.
Another message adds: The police recovered the body of a businessman at Jamdia village in Bagharpara Upazila Saturday.
In Chandpur, a tea stall employee was hacked to death allegedly by a terrorist at WAPDA gate at Kholishadhuli village in Sadar Upazila Saturday.
In Manikganj, two pedestrians were crushed under the wheels of a truck near Tepra bus stand on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway Sunday morning.
The deceased were identified as Sujan Chowdhury of Tepra village and Alauddin of Baista village in Shibaloy Upazila.
In Sirajganj, a schoolboy was strangulated to death by unidentified miscreants at Kutiria Bhadraghat village in Kamarkhand Upazila Saturday night.
In Barisal, a suspected member of an organised gang of transformer thieves, was found dead at Rahamatpur Agriculture College area in Babuganj Upazila Saturday morning.
In Sylhet, three people were killed in separate incidents in Kanaighat, Jakiganj and Bishwanath Upazilas of the district.
In Nilphamari, two people, including a housewife, allegedly committed suicide in Dimla and Sadar Upazilas here Friday.
In Gopalganj, a madrasah teacher, who was critically injured in a road accident near Pona Bus Stand in Kashiani Upazila succumbed to his injuries at Faridpur Medical College Saturday.
