Ekpay, Zaytoon team up to set up Village Digital Booths

Ekpay, a payment aggregator platform of a2i, and Zaytoon Business Solutions are going to work together to set up 'Village Digital Booth' across the country to ease the financial services for the marginalised community people.
The a2i and Zaytoon Business Solutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this end at a function at a city hotel on Tuesday, reports BSS.
a2i Project Director (joint secretary) Dr Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir and Zaytoon Business Solutions Chairman Md Arfan Ali signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.
The information was revealed at a press conference at the hotel after the MoU signing ceremony, said a press release.
Under the MoU, Ekpay will provide technical and overall support for setting up a 'Village Digital Booth' in every village aimed at building a 'SMART Bangladesh' and advancing the financial inclusion programme for the marginalized people.
Speaking at the press conference, a2i Project Director Dr Dewan said that the village booth will facilitate the underprivileged people with financial services as well as help attain the Sustainable Development Goals.
According to a2i officials, the people could avail all sorts of financial services, including like paying utility bills, receiving government allowances under the social safety net programme, education fees and e-ticketing, through the 'Village Booth'.
