Elderly man killed in Jashore road accident

JASHORE, Aug 19 (BSS): An elderly man was killed in a road accident on the Nizampur road in North Burujbagan Taltala junction area under Sharsha upazila of the district on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Khorshed Ali, 65, son of Mokshed Ali, resident of North Burujbagan area of the upazila.
The accident occurred when Khorshed Ali was crossing the road while going home from Taltala junction area. As a speeding motorcycle hit him and he fell on the ground, an engine-run three-wheeler 'Nasimon' crushed him around 11.30am, leaving him serious injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sharsha Police Station SM Akiqul Islam said.
Locals rescued him and took him to Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, the OC said.
