Elderly widow strangled to death in city

Miscreants strangled to death an elderly widow in the city's North Kafrul area in the wee hours of Wednesday, reports UNB.
Hospital sources said the dead is Sufia Khatun (66), wife of late Abdul Latif and mother of two daughters and a son.
Tofail Ahmed, sub-inspector (SI) of Ramna Police Station, told the news agency that they found the body hanging from the ceiling fan with her hands tied by a scarf at her house at about 1:45 am.
Her body was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue early Wednesday morning.
