Election Officer chopped in B\\\'baria

BRAHMANBARIA, Sept 8 (BSS): A group of miscreants chopped election officer Belayet Hossain Chowdhury with sharp weapons in the Brahmanbaria town this noon.
According to police a group of young men went to the election office in the Kawtoli area in the Brahmanbaria town this noon and demanded enlistment of their names in the new voter list.
District Election Officer Belayet Hossain Chowdhury asked them to come in January next year for this purpose.
At this, they became furious and started an altercation with the election officer.
During the altercation the miscreants started chopping the election officer Belayet Hossain with sharp weapons and injured him severely.
When office Assistant Nirmal Chandra Shil tried to save Election Officer he was also injured.
