Election to 14 UZs May 19

Election to 14 upazila (UZ) parishads in 10 districts will held on May 19, The Election Commission (EC) announced on Wednesday. Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad announced the schedule of the 6th-phase polls at a press conference at the EC’s Media Centre. The last date for submission of nomination papers is April 24, while the scrutiny has been set for April 26. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is May 3. The CEC said the by-polls to chairman post of Tarakanda upazila in Mymensingh will be held on May 19, according to a news agency.
