KHULNA, July 13 (BSS): Speakers at a workshop here today resolved that the electronic media can play a vital role in preventing trafficking in children, early marriage and using them in illicit drug trading.
The speakers also stressed the need for rehabilitating the street children and taking care of them for building a digital Bangladesh.
They were addressing the workshop titled "Role of Electronic Media for Children Safety Net" at Christian Service Society (CSS) in the city.
Khulna Press Club organized the workshop with the assistance of the NGO-World Vision.
Khulna Police Super Habibur Rahman addressed the workshop as the chief guest while deputy director of Khulna divisional information office Zinat Ara Ahmed was the special guest.
Khulna Press Club President Faruk Ahmed delivered the welcome speech while Atul Mrong, divisional director of World Vision, was in the chair.
Arpona Ghosh, communications manager of World Vision, Pravash Chandra Biswas, manager of Khulna World Vision and SM Zahid Hossain, general secretary of Khulna Press Club, among others addressed the workshop.
