Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Wednesday said the work on the Elevated Expressway will start by June. The Minister said this while addressing the biannual meeting of Bangladesh Road Transports Association at Engineers’ Institute in the city. Quader said the work on Dhaka Metro Rail project will begin next year as it is needed for reducing traffic jam. The process for appointing a consultant has been completed, he said. “Coordinated efforts are needed for reducing traffic jam in Dhaka city as Communications Ministry can’t do it alone,” he said. The government has taken many major projects, including the Dhaka-Chittagong four-lane project, and those will be completed within the tenure of the current government, he hoped, according to UNB.
