Bridegroom, bride both die as a bus collides head-on with bridal microbus

At least 13 people were killed, eleven of a family, as a bus collided head-on with a bridal-party microbus in Rampal upazila of Bagerhat district on Thursday afternoon, sources said.
A newlywed couple met with their tragic end in the violent collision that occurred while the bridal party was on way back from the bride's paternal home.
Police and witnesses said the accident occurred around 3:00 pm when the Navy bus, which had departed from Mongla, collided with the microbus coming from the opposite direction.
Among the deceased were also two children, their mother, the driver, the newlywed couple, the groom's grandmother, and the bride's maternal grandmother.
Eight of the bodies were taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital, while the remaining four were kept at the Rampal Upazila Health Complex. Several of those injured were later referred to Khulna Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment, according to hospital sources.
A medical officer at Khulna Medical College Hospital said the eight victims, including a child, "were all brought to the hospital dead".
