Elias put on remand

HABIGANJ, July 22 (BSS): A court put on Wednesday Elias Mia alias Chhoton, a murder case accused, on a three-day remand in connection with attack on BNP district general secretary GK Gaus in the district jail.
Elias, hailed from Biramchar village under Shayestaganj municipality, was produced before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Mamunur Rahman Siddique seeking a seven-day remand but the court granted three-day for quizzing on the attack.
He swooped on Gaus, suspended Habiganj municipality mayor with a rod after the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at 10 am on July 18 inside the jail.
