Pro-BNP intellectuals at a discussion in the city stressed Wednesday the need for holding an inclusive national election under a government formed by a national consensus to overcome the current political crisis, reports UNB.
They noted that only a transparent and acceptable election can help the country get over the current political crisis.
The discussion on 'Recent National Crisis: Ways to Overcome' under the banner of 'Sushil Samaj' was held at Shaheed Shafiur Rahman Auditorium of Supreme Court Bar Association Building.
Speaking on the occasion, former vice-chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Emajuddin Ahmed on behalf of 'Sushil Samaj' recommended a national unity government to get over the political crisis saying 'The task of the unity government will be to arrange an all inclusive election to properly run all the activities of the People's Republic'.
SCBA president Khandker Mabbub Hossain presided over the discussion.
