Emirates appoints Talal Al Gergawi as Country Manager for Bangladesh

Emirates, the world's largest international airline, has appointed Talal Al Gergawi as the new Country Manager for Bangladesh, effective from August 1.
Talal will lead the airline's operations in Bangladesh, drive commercial growth, and further strengthen Emirates' presence in the country, says a press statement.


This leadership change is part of Emirates' ongoing global management rotation strategy, designed to support its commercial objectives in the West Asia and Indian Ocean (WAIO) region.
In his new role, Talal will report to Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations - WAIO. He succeeds Jaber Mohamed, who has been appointed as Manager - Sri Lanka and Maldives.
Bangladesh is a key market for Emirates. As Emirates approaches 39 years of operations in the country Talal's diverse experience across the airline's outstations will help enhance its operations, while expanding online and offline sales. His role will also include strengthening relationships with Emirates' network of travel trade partners, who are instrumental to the company's continued growth and customer outreach in Bangladesh.
Talal brings a wealth of experience to the role, having held several key positions within Emirates, including Commercial Support Manager - Cambodia, Manager - Cambodia (from 2019), District Manager - Dhahran & KSA Eastern, and most recently, Manager - Zimbabwe since 2022.
Emirates began its operations in Bangladesh in 1986 and currently operates 21 weekly flights from Dhaka, offering seamless connectivity to nearly 140 destinations across six continents via Dubai. Emirates remains the only international airline in Bangladesh to offer a luxurious First-Class experience, underscoring its commitment to providing world-class service to travelers from the country.
