Emirates' has won the much-coveted Skytrax-2007 Best Airline In-flight Entertainment Award for the third time.
The award is a result of the world airlines survey conducted between August 2006 and June 2007, and is based on the responses of 14 million passengers of 93 different nationalities.
Skytrax Chief Executive Officer Edward Plaisted said, "Emirates seems to have their name carved firmly onto this best in-flight entertainment award and we congratulate them for their repeated success in this 2007 survey result."
Emirates has made massive investment to provide passengers the very best in-flight entertainment, since the time, way back in 1992, it became the first airline in the world to offer personal TV screens in all classes on its entire fleet.
In 2003, the airlines launched the ice system, an acronym for information communications and entertainment, offering over 500 channels of entertainment and offering passengers more choice than ever before.
Conceived in-house, Emirates' unique ice system widened the traditional entertainment - only product, offering much more-seatback SMS and E-mail services, and live text new updates throughout the flight.
It recently upped its cutting -edge ice digital widescreen system.
The system features many more firsts in the airline industry including unique wireless handset controllers in premium classes that allow passengers to select entertainment, seat positions, lighting and massage functions.
