Thursday, 8 April 2010

Emirates International Exchange (EIE), one of the leading exchange houses in the Middle East, has joined hands with BRAC Bank for remittance transfer to Bangladesh.
EIE will send all remittances online so that customers can receive their payments in 24 hours in urban areas and 48 hours in rural areas, thanks to BRAC Bank's door-to-door services, said a press release.
An agreement in this connection was signed between the companies recently. BRAC Bank Deputy Managing Director and Head of Probashi Banking Syed Mahbubur Rahman signed the deal on behalf of the bank.
BRAC Bank Managing Director AEA Muhaimen said, "Signing of this agreement with Emirates International Exchange is an important landmark in the annals of BRAC Bank. Being a leading money exchange, EIE plays an important role in money remittances to Bangladesh as a lot of Bangladeshis use this exchange. It gives us immense pleasure to join hands with EIE."
EIE Chief Executive Officer Santosh Tandel hailed the tie-up. "Bangladesh is a key market for us and to serve more Bangladeshis, it was important to tie up with a leading bank like BRAC Bank. With this, we have a leader as one of our correspondent banks in Bangladesh."
The current joining hand with BRAC Bank has consolidated EIE's already strong presence in Bangladesh. "We already have offered a high level of service to customers sending money to Bangladesh. The BRAC Bank tie up will strengthen our service offering even more," elaborated Mr Tandel.
